The art
The most recent series (LMM) involves multiple layers of acrylic, rice paper and alcohol inks. These are created over many weeks where I complete one stage (rice paper, acrylic wash) and then look at the work for a few days to see “where it wants to go”. These pieces are never designed in advance but instead, are always evolving. And yes, the piece will always “tell me when it is finished”.
The artist
One of my earliest color memories is fingerpainting in kindergarten with a brilliant red color covering my hands and to this day, I still love to make a mess in my studio! I’m always experimenting with media combinations; I find moments of inspiration in the process and from those moments, often create new bodies of work. I love to chat about and explain my process; feel free to ask when you visit.
